Our Pastor
Our pastor is always available – to anyone – to teach, heal, and comfort. How?
Because our pastor is two books:
- The Bible, which includes the wisdom of ages.
- Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, which expands on biblical wisdom for today’s world.
When Mary Baker Eddy founded the Church of Christ, Scientist, she first designated specific individuals to conduct services and preach. Realizing that more consistency from the pulpit was needed, in 1895 she ordained these two books to be the pastor. Today these books serve as the Pastor in Christian Science churches throughout the world.
Selected readings from these two books constitute a major portion of both Sunday and Wednesday services. It’s important to know that the term “man” as used in Science and Health (and Eddy’s other writings) refers to each one of us, as does the pronoun “he” — as stated in these passages: “Man is the family name for all ideas, — the sons and daughters of God.” (S&H 515:21-22) and “Man is the generic term for men and women.”
(Miscellany 239:18-19)

Words of Wisdom
from Our Pastor
God is Love (I John 4)
God is Love. Can we ask Him to be more? God is intelligence. Can we inform the infinite Mind of anything He does not already comprehend? (S&H p. 2)
The kingdom of God is within you. (Luke 17:21)
When speaking of God’s children, not the children of men, Jesus said, “The kingdom of God is within you;” that is, Truth and Love reign in the real man, showing that man in God’s image is unfallen and eternal. (S&H p. 476)
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Rom 12)
Our proportionate admission of the claims of good or of evil determines the harmony of our existence, – our health, our longevity, and our Christianity. (S&H 167)
Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. (Matthew 4:23)
Every law of matter or the body, supposed to govern man, is rendered null and void by the law of Life, God. (S&H 380:32-1)
How excellent is your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of your wings. (Psalms 36:7)
The understanding that Life is God, Spirit, lengthens our days by strengthening our trust in the deathless reality of Life, its almightiness and immortality. (S&H, p 487)
Truth is always the victor. (S&H p 380)

If you’re not ready for church membership, consider partnering with us. Being a Covenant Partner does not conflict with membership in any other church.
“We come together to experience and love God; to accept, respect and love each other–by practicing spirituality that is God-centered, Biblically grounded, Christ-following, Jesus-patterned, and Spirit-saturated.” This is the introduction to Our Covenant. If you want to join our community, we invite you to take this step!
