NGF Activities
Because of the cooperative nature of the Brentwood Christian Science Church and Next Generation Fellowship, activities are not easily categorized as belonging to one or the other, but those described here are considered unique to NGF.
Gatherings
Since 2009, “The Gathering,” a worship ministry of Next Generation Fellowship, has been fostering a community of spiritual seekers, exploring new ideas in Christianity, sharing our soul journeys within a safe environment, and connecting through song, prayer, and spiritual companionship.
A Gathering is where the questions are as important as answers, where “lived experience” is honored, where “come as you are,” means we share our broken hearts and tears, as well as our inspiration and victories.
Gatherings may include:
- an inspirational talk, where some aspect of the spiritual experience is explored through the lens of the Bible and the ideas and lives of spiritual thinkers, theologians, and those who experience God directly or those who have direct experiences of God from the time of Christ to today
- contemporary worship songs
- led prayer and contemplative space
- audience participation
Fellowship at the Well
A non-denominational conversation covering broad Christian themes following the BCSC service on the 1st and 3rd Sundays each month, via Zoom.
Women at the Well
A group of women supporting women within a circle of trust, meaning that everything shared stays within the circle. It is a time to share and receive the blessings of fellowship with one another in the presence of Grace. Discussions are on topics of interest to the women attending and take place via Zoom after the BCSC service on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month.
Take Action Gatherings (TAG)
In-person activities take place on 5th Sundays of the month and are organized to meet a need in our wider community.

The Well
The Well is an open-hearted interfaith meeting space.
In traditional villages, a well is where the community meets and where its members receive the sustenance of life. Our Well is a networking hub where local faith communities share and learn from one another in a spirit of generous hospitality.
The Well welcomes groups from throughout St. Louis who are engaged in educational programs and social services that both care for human needs and lift up a higher view of what it means to be human and to care for one another.
Prayer Team
Our prayer team is a small group of dedicated individuals ready to prayerfully support you, your family, or your friends. All you need to do is ask. Prayer requests are kept confidential.
Are any among you suffering? They should pray. Are any cheerful? They should sing songs of praise. Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up, and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.
~ James 5 NRSV
Joining NGF
If you’ve experienced our community and would like to do more than just visit, become a Covenant Partner! Being a Covenant Partner does not conflict with membership in any other church.
“We come together to experience and love God; to accept, respect and love each other—by practicing spirituality that is God-centered, Biblically grounded, Christ-following, Jesus-patterned, and Spirit-saturated.” This is the introduction to Our Covenant. If you want to join our NGF community, we invite you to take this step!
