Luke’s Jesus is a prophet holding our feet to the fire if found out of spiritual alignment with God. This Gospel is far from business as usual. As we study Jesus’ prophetic role in Luke, we will keep in mind Luke’s sequel, the Book of Acts — the story of the Church — and explore ways today’s congregations define their role in a world seeking justice, peace, and genuine community.
